Derrylamogue N.S. is a six teacher school nestled at the foot of the Sliabh Bloom Mountains. The school is located between Mountmellick and Rosenallis.
School records date back to 1872. In 1900 the old school was constructed across the road from the present site. The ruins to this school can be seen today.
In 1962 a new school was built on the present site and a third room was constructed in 1993.
Further renovations over the years include two more classrooms were added in 2003.
During the Summer of 2007 the pitch and play areas were extended.
In the Summer of 2008 tarring was carried out to the front of the school. We also built a new porch to the front of the school. We renovated the office, Resource Room and Store for sports equipment.
In 2015 a new extension comprising of 2 classrooms, school office, boiler room and hallway was completed.
The existing car park area was upgraded in 2018 with the construction of a wall and a plan for traffic management .
