Guide lines for using a Zoom Meeting
Zoom(Online call) - Guidelines
Online calls are a fun way for kids to keep in touch with school friends. But, there are some rules that new participants should be aware of.
Take a few minutes to go over these guidelines with your child before their online chat with their teacher.
Be ready for your online call . Gather any materials you need ahead of time. Also, make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand. If you want to have water, grab a bottle before the online call starts.
Stay in One Spot during the online call. Make sure the phone or laptop which you are using is on a stable surface and can’t move. It’s distracting to the class if you keep moving around. So, stay put and if you want you can schedule an online call with your friends another time.
Background should be clear of distractions. Find a spot in your house that has a simple plain background and has good lighting. But, don’t sit in front of a window with the light streaming in behind you; that will also make it hard for people to see you.
Know When and How To Mute When your device picks up any sound, the app grabs your screen and puts you front in centre. That’s great if you are answering a question or adding a comment. Turn on mute and keep it on until it is your time to speak.
Find a Quiet Spot. To avoid distraction for you and the others on the online call, find a quiet spot in your house. It will be easier for classmates to hear from you and for you to hear them.
Be on time for your online call. Ask Mam or Dad to log you into the call a few minutes early to make sure your device is working properly.
Wait Your Turn. Teachers will probably give you a signal to use, like raising your hand, if you have something to say. Use good manners by using this signal before speaking.
Be Presentable. Take a few minutes to make yourself presentable. You don’t need to put on your uniform! Everyday clothes are fine.
Be Respectful During your online meetings with classmates, act like you would in your class at school. If you wouldn’t chew gum, crunch on snacks, or talk with your brother during a class at school, don’t do it on the call.
